1. Kevin Hart surprises fans with an April Fools’ Day Tiny Desk performance

In a special April Fools’ Day performance, Kevin Hart shocked fans by making his Tiny Desk debut as his rap alter ego, Chocolate Droppa. Backed by The Band of Brothas, Hart fully embraced his hip-hop persona, delivering an energetic and unpredictable 10-minute set at NPR’s offices. Wearing a black hoodie and a red fitted cap, Droppa showcased a mix of hard-hitting bars and smooth melodies, performing tracks like “ATL RAP,” “Love Song,” and “West Coast” before closing with “Don’t F**k With Dem.” His return to the mic after years away had fans questioning whether this was a clever prank or the start of a full-fledged comeback.

Droppa’s appearance comes nearly a decade after his debut mixtape, which featured collaborations with major artists like Chris Brown, Migos, and Big Sean. Though he’s remained mostly silent in the rap world, he teased fans with a surprise cypher appearance on AMP in July 2024 and has stayed active in the entertainment scene through his partnership with Kai Cenat. Whether this Tiny Desk set was just a playful April Fool’s gag or a serious return to music, one thing is clear—Kevin Hart continues to prove he can captivate audiences in any arena.

2. Ayra Starr and Asake to headline Summer Jam 2025

The love-filled season continues in the world of celebrities as singer and actor Lindo Sithole ties the knot. Hot on the heels of former Miss Universe Zozibini Tunzi and media personality Candice Modiselle’s weddings, Lindo has wedded. The actor took to his timeline on Monday to share beautiful moments from his traditional wedding, surrounded by loved ones who were there to celebrate with him.

With a heart full of gratitude, Lindo expressed his joy in a simple yet emotional post, writing, “I don’t have a lot of words to say, I am overjoyed. Thank you for love and respect. I love you Ma’Sithole.” His fans quickly flooded the post with love and well wishes for the couple, marking another joyous occasion in the celeb world as wedding season takes center stage.

4. Cory Booker breaks record for longest Senate speech after 24 hours

US Senator Cory Booker has made history with the longest speech ever in the Senate, speaking for 25 hours and four minutes. The New Jersey Democrat’s address, a symbolic protest against President Donald Trump, began at 7:00 PM on Monday and ended at 8:06 PM on Tuesday. While not a filibuster, the speech delayed legislative proceedings in the Republican-controlled Senate. Booker filled the time by reading letters from constituents, reciting poetry, and discussing sports.

His speech broke the previous record set by Strom Thurmond in 1957, when he spoke for 24 hours and 18 minutes against the Civil Rights Act. Booker, who is African American, reflected on his ancestry, which includes both enslaved people and slave owners. As he reached the milestone, he joked about needing to tend to “biological urgencies.” Senate Democrats, including Chuck Schumer and Dick Durbin, supported him by asking questions to give him brief moments of relief.

5. Erling Haaland out for up to seven weeks with ankle injury

Manchester City striker Erling Haaland will be sidelined for up to seven weeks after injuring his ankle in Sunday’s FA Cup quarter-final win at Bournemouth. The 24-year-old Norwegian was substituted in the 61st minute after scoring the equalizer in City’s 2-1 victory. Haaland was seen leaving the Vitality Stadium on crutches with his left ankle in a protective boot. Manager Pep Guardiola confirmed the injury would keep him out for five to seven weeks, hoping he would be fit for the Club World Cup.

The club’s medical team will consult a specialist about Haaland’s injury, hoping he can return before the season ends. His absence could result in missing important matches, including the FA Cup semi-final and final on May 17. This injury complicates matters for Manchester City as they vie for a Champions League spot. Guardiola remains hopeful that Haaland can return for the season’s final stretch.
