imply put, Keke Palmer is glowing. And evidently so. The 29-year-old actress and singer gave birth to her son, Leodis, in February 2023. And because Ms. Palmer is a vocal pleasure to listen to, she has been sharing her journey into motherhood with her eager fans. In addition to her new role as a mom, Palmer recently released her new movie and album, “Big Boss.” The movie, released in May, revolves around Keke’s life and story in the music industry.

Palmer has been open about her motherhood escapades and has been using her platform to speak out about how her postpartum body changes. The new mom is an inspiration to many, and her post-baby glow-up is a testament to her strength and resilience after dealing with polycystic ovary syndrome all her life. Following the birth of her son, she’s now showing the world that it’s possible to be a successful mom in Hollywood without caving under the pressure of snapping back.

Let’s journey through Keke Palmer’s post-partum glow-up…

Keke Palmer has always had a good sense of style, and being a mom has only enhanced it. Motherhood has seen her explore a plethora of closet options including animal prints and elegant silhouettes. (Remember her iconic met gala look?). Beyond fashion, her style quest has seen her up her hairstyle game. For instance, the actress has been recently spotted channeling old Hollywood glam unabashedly. But before now, we’ve seen her rock retro bangs, trusted braids, and the dearly-beloved afro curls. The result? We’re constantly saving her impressive style renderings on our mood board.

This May, Palmer released her new visual album, “Big Boss.” Before its release, the singer tirelessly teased the body of work on socials, thus increasing anticipation for the album. Of course, fans weren’t disappointed. Big Boss “tells the tale of a young woman from Chicago who struggles to make it in the unpredictable, harsh, male-dominated music industry. Only to find out the harder problem was learning to trust her instincts.” This is Keke Palmer’s account of tenacity, self-love, unshakeable faith, and spiritual survival — traits she undoubtedly possesses. It’s no surprise that the star wrote and directed this work.

Glowing and bare: Keke Palmer’s post-partum interviews

Palmer has taken a not-so-Hollywood approach to motherhood by being open about her experience so far. First, she thanked pregnancy for helping her deal with persistent acne breakouts. And now she credited baby Leo with her new-found curves. But motherhood hasn’t been rosy and Palmer hasn’t been shy about that either. During a recent interview, she bared it all about her struggles with motherhood and how she’s determined to enjoy the process and continue living the life of her dreams.

Things can be challenging with a three-month-old baby and a career, and it’s no different with Big Boss. The star has revealed that she’s doing her best to balance things, “Learning how to balance it all and looking forward to discovering this new person I am becoming. I will never be the same again, but if you thought I was a bad mama jamma before, you can’t imagine the greater purpose my son has given my life!”

Keke Palmer after her baby has been praised by many, and it’s beautiful to see the amazing actress views motherhood so excitedly. She’s showing the world that it’s okay to keep living your life even as a first-time mom.

The American actress has said she doesn’t feel the need to rush back to her pre-baby body, and that she’s happy to take her time. She gives insight into this as an entertainer with the pressure to get more gigs in an industry where being “out of shape” doesn’t help. Palmer’s attitude towards the “snap back” culture is refreshing and helps change the way we think about body image.

Simply put, Ms. Palmer is unequivocally stating that a postpartum body is okay and shouldn’t be shamed. Yes, this doesn’t exclude eating healthy and going to the gym. The message she preaches is that while maintaining good lifestyle habits, it’s also necessary that new moms don’t put themselves under any form of pressure to “snap back.” We hear you Keke, loud and clear.
