Fashion fans had no clue they were in for a thrill when South African stylist, Kefilwe Mabote began sharing images of her favourite international style icons.
The image consultant and digital influencer recreated looks that made her followers take a nostalgic trip down memory lane. What’s even more exciting is the incredibly artistic ways in which she recreated the looks: seems she wanted us to live in that era again but with renewed energy.
We have to give it to Kefilwe because if anything, she proved that she truly has mastered her craft. While impersonating her faves she allowed her followers to join in on the experience using the hashtag KefiIconicDiaries. Followers were to guess who she was dressed up as to stand a chance at winning some of the designs she was wearing.
It was really all so exciting and we have to talk about her Karl Lagerfeld impersonation. What an incredibly perfect time to honour the style genius – which she did days to his passing. Audrey Hepburn, Micheal Jackson, Marilyn Monroe and Naomi Campbell were also among some of the fashion icons Kefilwe paid homage to. Cruella DeVil, Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman and Miranda Priestly in Devil Wears Prada were the iconic characters she impersonated.
