Early Monday morning, July 24, Jazmine Sullivan took to social media to let her fans know that her mom, Pam Sullivan, has passed away. “I don’t have the words yet Mommy,” she captioned a childhood photo of her mom on Instagram. “So for now, I’ll say thank you, thank you, thank you. Rest now, butterfly. [Butterfly emoji] 10/26/58- 07/22/23 [Broken-heart emoji].” Pam was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2019. During an appearance on the “PEOPLE Every Day” podcast last year, the Grammy Award-winning singer shared how her mother’s cancer battle changed their relationship for the better. Jazmine also added that Pam’s disease is what inspired her to make her own health a priority, including setting up appointments for a mammogram.

Our condolences go out to the singer and her family.

Popular Nigerian singer Bella Shmurda has welcomed a baby boy with his secret lover. The elated father announced the arrival of his son via his socials on Monday. The “Cash App” crooner lost his son at birth last year, a few days before the release of his debut album. Fortunately, he has now welcomed a son a few days before the release of his sophomore project this year. Shmurda wrote: “It’s a few days to the drop of my project this year. This time, I got news that my little boy is here. I’m happy and blessed. What’s lost can never be replaced, but I have another chance, a new lease on life. A new purpose. I’m a new daddy; do not disturb.”

Congratulations to the new dad!

Nasty C has shared a photo of his unborn baby. The rapper, who is expecting his first child with his longtime girlfriend Sammie, took to his timeline to share an ultrasound image and his partner’s baby bump. Nasty C first announced the news during the second installation of his “Fire in the Booth” freestyle featuring Charlie Sloth in early July. “Bae is still pregos but as soon as that’s done, we are back on tour,” he said.

His partner shared a picture of her growing baby bump and a pregnancy test displaying she was more than three weeks pregnant at the time. “The beginning,” she captioned the post with a laughing emoji. Nasty C and Sammie have been together since high school. Though the couple prefers to lead a private life, Nasty C uses music to detail their journey together.

Snoop Dogg just dropped the perfect flavor collaboration for summer. The rap legend teamed with Happy Co. to release his very own ice cream which launched in 3,500 Walmart stores on Monday, July 24. Dr. Bombay Ice Cream, named after Snoop’s NFT character, features seven flavors including Bonus Track Brownie, Cocoa Cream Cookie Dream, and Iced Out Orange Cream. The ice cream retails for $4.98 at Walmart. “Ice cream is more than just a snack to me; it’s a way to chill, relax, and get happy. That’s exactly what I want Dr. Bombay Ice Cream to do—bring a smile to your face and ease your mind,” Snoop said in a news release.

Additional flavors include Rollin’ In the Dough, S’more Vibes, Syrupy Waffle Sundaze, and Tropical Sherbet Swizzle. Dr. Bombay will expand into other retailers in the following months including Winn Dixie, ShopRite, Albertsons/Safeway, and Gopuff.

5. Lionel Messi set to be named Inter Miami captain

Lionel Messi is poised to be named Inter Miami captain after just one game and with fewer than 90 minutes under his belt for the club. Speaking in a press conference, head coach Tata Martino confirmed that Messi will be given the captain’s armband at the Major League Soccer club. He skippered the side on his debut off the bench, as he scored a brilliant last-minute free-kick to give Miami a 2-1 win over Cruz Azul in the Leagues Cup.

The current Inter Miami captain is Gregore, a defensive midfielder, but he is out with a long-term injury, and Messi is set to take over. It remains to be seen if Gregore will get the captaincy back when he returns to fitness. Messi regularly wore the captain’s armband at Barcelona, although he was never officially made skipper at Paris Saint-Germain. He is the captain of Argentina and of course, lifted the World Cup in Qatar. He is undoubtedly the highest-profile player to play for Inter Miami, so making him captain is little surprise.
