It’s not every day you see a Boston Celtics star sporting custom Timberland boots at a Los Angeles Lakers game. But when Jaylen Brown arrived at a recent matchup, he didn’t just step onto the hardwood—he commanded attention with his Timberlands. It wasn’t just any statement. It was loud, bold, and dripping in diamonds.
The 2025 NBA Finals MVP turned heads off the court with his pregame fashion. But this time, our double-take didn’t come courtesy of his hooded jacket or striped baggy pants. No, it was his footwear. Jaylen Brown stepped into TD Garden for the highly anticipated matchup against the Los Angeles Lakers wearing a pair of black diamond-encrusted Timberland boots, each gleaming with the logo of his brand, 7uice.

Designed by stylist Chantelle Thach, the boots featured a striking 6.3-carat diamond medallion on each, totaling an impressive 12.5 carats. The contrast between the rugged leather and the dazzling diamonds elevated them from mere footwear to a statement of wearable art.

“I’ve been wearing Timberlands since I was a kid,” Brown said in a conversation with Celtics Wire. “So this collaboration was both nostalgic and a chance to make something truly my own.”

“Partnering with Chantelle Thach to design this 1-of-1 7UICE x Timberland with real diamonds from GRWN Diamonds was about merging legacy with innovation,” Brown said. “Debuting them at the Celtics vs. Lakers game—one of the biggest rivalries in sports—felt fitting because I wanted to bring that real and rugged energy tonight.”
A Spring Style Inspo

Originally crafted in 1973 for blue-collar workers, Timberland boots have since undergone a remarkable high-fashion evolution. Once a utilitarian staple, they have seamlessly transitioned into a hip-hop essential and, ultimately, a coveted symbol of celebrity style. Their presence on mood boards and runways alike speaks to their enduring cultural significance.
More than just footwear, Timberlands represent authenticity, resilience, and an unshakable sense of style. This legacy has been further cemented through sought-after collaborations with streetwear powerhouses like Stüssy, A-Cold-Wall, Supreme, Wales Bonner, and Louis Vuitton—each reimagining the boot while preserving its iconic status.

Before these high-fashion collaborations took center stage, Timberland boots first cemented their status in the New York hip-hop scene. In the ‘90s, they became a staple among rap icons, worn by legends like Tupac, The Notorious B.I.G., and members of the Wu-Tang Clan. Over the years, their influence expanded beyond hip-hop, with style icons like Rihanna and Jennifer Lopez embracing the boot’s rugged yet effortlessly cool appeal.
