Remember when the cast and crew of the highly anticipated movie of 2018, The Royal Hibiscus Hotel took Toronto by storm in 2017? Well, they did it again on Sunday, 4th February 2018 at Civic Centre Lagos as they officially premiered the movie with a festival of food, music and love.
With the dress code for the premiere being Valentine Red, the movie premiered like none other with a host of celebrities in attendance looking all so glamorous and dashing in their attires. The Royal Hibiscus Hotel is a romantic comedy about a couple who run a charming, but run-down, boutique hotel in Lagos, Nigeria. In desperation, the owner decides to sell the hotel without his wife’s knowledge, as a way of settling all their debts. On the other end, their daughter is living in London, working a dead-end job while trying to open her own restaurant. When she decides to return to Nigeria, she meets a charming young businessman with a secret that threatens her plans to restore the hotel’s fortunes. Can love survive deception?
You can only find out when the movie hits the cinemas nationwide on the 9th of February 2018. What I can say is that this movie is a must watch and you can’t afford to watch it alone! It had the right amount of romance and comedy and I would rate it a 4.5 out of 5. I can’t wait to watch it again!
