Before now, being plus-sized was seen as being unhealthy or unattractive, in recent times the narrative has changed and plus-sized women are being celebrated, as they rightfully deserve.
The Plus-size Fashion Week Africa was birthed out of the need to stop the stigmatization and body shaming of the plus-sized woman; the brand believes that every woman should be comfortable in her skin and body regardless of what the society thinks, as long as they are healthy.
As part of the line up for this year’s event, Plus-size Fashion Week Africa presents the first edition of its masterclass themed ‘Glow up and Flawless.’ The masterclass is aimed at helping plus-sized women see beyond their body size and helping them cultivate an attitude of positivity in every facet of life.
During the masterclass, there will be talks on a range of topics including business/finance, mental wellbeing, plus-size modelling by experts on these areas.
The master class is set to take place at 1 pm on Sunday, November 4, 2018, at the Main Banquet Hall, Oriental Hotel, Lagos. Panellists tapped for the masterclass, which will hosted by Yetty Ogunnubi and moderated by Temi Aboderin-Alao, include Bunmi Aboderin Talabi, Bukky Karibi-Whyte, Omilola Oshikoya, Glory Edozien, Gbemisola Adebayo, Dumebi Agbakoba, Feyi Luther, Chisom Ogbummuo, Titi Akinkugbe, Bukola Alba, Aderonke Eno Adefalujo, Temi George Taylor and Moremi Elekwachi.
