Nigerian womenswear label, The Muse Factory has just launched its SS17 collection ‘FREEDOM’. The collection by the brand is inspired by the designer’s personal struggle as a creative; the vision, initial apprehension, vulnerability and final acceptance of her artistic self.
Designed with 3D embroidery, frayed hems, ruffles, frills and sheer fabrics, the collection by The Muse Factory is a colourful and raw interpretation of the designer’s vision, art and voice as a creative. The collection features a fusion of summery prints and autumnal tones of mustard yellow and olive green interwoven with key aesthetics like embroidery, hand-frayed tassels, Chantilly lace and more.
By partnering with the Onome Akinlolu Majaro Foundation; a foundation created to empower people with albinism and featuring an albino model, the designer’s intentions through this campaign is to encourage “body-positivity”, individualism and uniqueness.
