1. Flo Milli announces new album ‘Fine Ho, Stay’

Flo Milli has announced her sophomore studio album, “Fine Ho, Stay,” a continuation of the breakthrough mixtape “Ho, why is you here?” and the 2022 debut album “You Still Here, Ho?” The album, led by “Anything Flows,” “B.T.W,” and a Lil Wayne-inspired self-titled track, is expected to be released before summer’s end. Hours before the big news, the Alabama talent dropped off another single titled “Fruit Loop,” which saw her showing off her fashion style and dance moves while sending a strong message to critics.

2. Odumodublvck shares pictures as he survives a ghastly motor accident

On Monday, August 7, popular Nigerian artist Odumodublvck posted a video of his successful performance in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. In the video, he walks onto a stage with hundreds of fans teeming for the stage and singing along to his music. A few hours later, he quoted the tweet with a photo of cars that looked like they had been wrecked beyond repair. In that tweet, he speaks about how, a mere two days before his successful performance in Port Harcourt, he was caught up in a terrible accident that almost took his life. He reflected on his survival in the crash and thanked God for not allowing the devil to truncate his success. In the comments, his fans were also thankful for his escape from the accident.

Odumodublvck first made waves in the Nigerian music industry earlier this year with the release of his chart-topping single, “Declan Rice.” The song went on to be used by the English football club Arsenal to announce their signing of football player, Declan Rice, and the song made headlines again. Since that time, Odumudublvck’s career has seen steady and growing success.

Congratulations are in order for Lesego “Blaklez” Moiloa after he made things official with his partner. The rapper took to his timeline to share footage from his lobola (bride price) negotiation ceremony with the caption: “Umkhwenyana waka Ngcobo.” When it comes to his social media timeline, Blaklez seldom shares much about his love life and has not disclosed his partner’s identity.

In a previous interview, Blaklez spoke of how he wished his mother, who passed away in 2013, would one day see him married. The rapper has led a private life since his public relationship with media personality Dineo Ranaka, with whom he shares a child, ended. The two are co-parenting amicably.

4. Lupe Fiasco teams up with Google to launch artificial intelligence writing tool

Rapper Lupe Fiasco and Google have announced the launch of a new application titled TextFX. As explained on its official website, the AI-based tool is “designed to expand the writing process by generating creative possibilities with text and language.” For Fiasco, TextFX, which is run through Google’s PaLM 2 large language model, is the latest example of hip hop’s long-standing relationship with automation. “Rap is born out of technology. Rap wouldn’t exist if it wasn’t for these technological advancements,” he explained in a short video on the aforementioned development.

As far as TextFX’s purpose, the rapper worked with creative technologist Aaron Wade and his team to provide songwriters with beneficial resources at will. Giving viewers a hands-on example, Lupe showed how TextFX helped him create a song titled “Glass of Water.” Feeding words into the program allowed him to find different rhymes, metaphors, and more using definitions, syllables, and other aspects of locution.

5. Super Falcons crash out of World Cup after penalty loss to England

The Nigeria national women’s football team have crashed out of the ongoing FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand. The Super Falcons, despite their gallant display holding the Lionesses to a barren draw after 120 minutes, lost out 4-2 on penalty kicks. Missed kicks by Desire Oparonize and Michelle Alozie proved costly as England held their nerve to win their first penalty shootout game in the World Cup. The Super Falcons were handed a numerical advantage late in the second half when their star player, Lauren James, was given a red card.

Unfortunately, the Super Falcons did not make their numerical advantage count and have now seen their blistering run at the World Cup come to an abrupt halt. While England are waiting to know who they face between Colombia and Jamaica, the Super Falcons will be looking to catch the next available flight as they shift their focus to the Olympic qualifiers.
