I had never heard of Jean-Louis Sabaji till I saw Mary J Blige in that ethereal piece by him at The SAG Awards. The Beirut-based Lebanese fashion designer is a fashion-forward designer with a unique approach to couture. He may not be as popular yet but his sculptural approach to silhouettes and imaginative couture skills have led him to be dubbed “the Alexander McQueen of the Middle East.”
Jean-Louis Sabaji has released his SS18 couture collection and according to him,
“The collection hails the Mesopotamian goddess of sexual love and high priestess of political power. There are twelve monumental creations worthy of Ištar herself!”
The collection consists of 12 jaw-dropping looks as Jean-Louis Sabaji once again plays with laser cut plumes, 3D handcrafted plumes, silk crepes, scuba, silk duchess, silk chiffon, silk tulles, silk organza, 3D raffia threadwork, pearls, crystals, appliques, metallic threadwork, glass beads and micro sequins to create the perfect dramatic SS18 collection that only the graceful and fearless would dare to wear.
