On Monday, March 25, according to news reports, Homeland Security raided Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ Los Angeles and Miami homes due to an alleged ongoing sex trafficking investigation. “Earlier today, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) New York executed law enforcement actions as part of an ongoing investigation, with assistance from HSI Los Angeles, HSI Miami, and our local law enforcement partners. We will provide further information as it becomes available,” the Department of Homeland Security said in a statement released to the media.

Attorney Douglas Wigdor, who represents Cassie Ventura and an anonymous plaintiff referred to as Jane Doe, issued this statement Monday: “We will always support law enforcement when it seeks to prosecute those that have violated the law. Hopefully, this is the beginning of a process that will hold Mr. Combs responsible for his depraved conduct.”

2. Kanye West’s team announces name change

Kanye West, also known as Ye, is taking action to ensure that he is only referred to by his new moniker after legally changing his name in October 2021, reports say. In a letter issued by Milo Yiannopoulos, Ye’s Chief of Staff and former Breitbart News editor, the rapper is demanding that streamers, publishers, lyric websites, and other entities call him by his new name from now on. Yiannopoulos also noted in the letter that Kanye is “a Black man in America who wants the right to full self-determination just like everyone else.”

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Michelle Williams Court gave the rapper permission to formally change his name from Kanye Omari West to just Ye. “There being no objections, the petition for change of name is granted,” Williams wrote in court documents.

3. South Africa: Tyla turned down Kai Cenat’s date request during live stream

On Sunday, March 24, streamer Kai Cenat hosted Tyla on his latest livestream. During the hangout session, the streamer got the South African star to teach him a new dance, rock matching shirts, and even take part in his popular What’s In The Box challenge. The biggest moment during the roughly three-hour stream came when the two decided to play a game of Truth or Dare—a clever nod to Tyla’s single of the same name. While the entire segment was pretty entertaining, Cenat found himself in an unintentionally cringe-worthy situation after being dared to ask someone out on a date.

After failing with someone on the phone, he turned his attention to his guest and shot his shot. “Tyla, would you like to go on a date with me?” he asked. “But we’re friends, though,” she said in response. While he seemed to hold himself together pretty well immediately after, a subsequent clip following Tyla’s departure hilariously proved otherwise.

4. Davido settles with Pinnick and agrees to perform at the Delta concert

Nigerian music sensation David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has reached an agreement to settle the breach of contract lawsuit filed against him by the Amaju Pinnick-led Brownhill Investment Company Limited out of court. Davido faced allegations of breaching a contract when he did not fulfill his performance obligations at the 19th edition of the Warri Again concert, even though he had been paid the requested fees. The two parties reached a mutual agreement to resolve the issue outside of the courtroom. The High Court in Delta subsequently approved their request on Thursday.

As part of the agreement reached, Davido has also agreed to pay the claimant N30 million within seven days of finalizing the settlement. This payment will serve as a partial contribution towards the claimant’s outstanding legal fees. As part of a resolution reached outside of court, the defendant has agreed to make a live performance at the upcoming Warri Again concert on October 4, 2024. It was also decided that the $94,500, which the claimant had already paid to the defendants, would be considered payment for the event’s performance.

5. Andy Murray is out for an extended period with ankle injury

Andy Murray says he will be out for “an extended period” following the ankle injury he sustained at the Miami Open. The Briton, 36, received treatment following the incident late in the third set of his dramatic 5-7, 7-5 7-6 (7-5) defeat by Tomas Machac on Sunday. He confirmed he suffered a full rupture of his anterior talofibular ligament (ATFL) and a near-full-thickness rupture of his calcaneofibular ligament (CFL). Murray will now see a specialist to “determine the next steps.”
