1. Davido announces release date for highly anticipated album
Nigerian megastar Davido has unveiled the release date for his highly anticipated album, “Timeless.” He announced on March 21 that the album will be released on March 31. Davido posted an announcement video in which he touched on the process that has led up to the album and the events that he has experienced in the past year.
“There is a time for everything. A time to Grieve and a time to Heal. A time to Laugh and a time to Dance. A time to Speak and A time for Silence. Thank you to everyone out there for your love and support that has held me down. All the love and messages while I was away, the gifts sent, the concerts you all threw! I appreciate it all. Today, I want to remind you all that what is now Timeless, was once new. It’s time for new. My next album TIMELESS is here, March 31st. Pre-save link in bio.”
2. Ludacris debuts satin bonnet line with daughter
Ludacris (born Christopher Bridges) and his daughter are expanding their Karma’s World empire. The rapper — who created the enormously successful animated cartoon Karma’s World alongside, and inspired by, his daughter Karma, 21 — has dropped a new collection of satin bonnets based on the hit show about a smart and beautiful young girl who sets out to change the world. Real-life experiences are the framework for the episodes and lyrics in the songs that Karma raps.
Karma’s World Sleep Collection features silk hair bonnets and silk pillowcases made specifically to “keep your little one’s hair looking fro-nominal,” Firstline Brands said in an Instagram statement announcing the partnership between the show and Camryn’s BFF, their line of hair accessories for the young tweens. Karma’s World Entertainment, Ludcris’ media company, and 9 Story Media Group, Karma’s World’s production company, announced the launch of their new licensing-based initiative for Karma’s World on Monday. According to the press release, it’s “designed to support Black-owned businesses and increase representation on-shelf for meaningful change within the licensing industry.”
3. South Africa: Costa Titch given a heartfelt send-off at memorial service
Family and friends have said their goodbyes to rapper Costa Titch in a live-streamed memorial service. When the memorial got underway on Hype Nation’s YouTube channel, rapper Moozlie shared a tribute. She went on to emphasize the importance of feeding one’s spirit and spoke on how Costa had a strong spirit because of how he’d make affirmations that helped him manifest the career he had. Later in the memorial, Titch’s manager, Khotso Moeti, shared the story of how he had met him, the journey they embarked on over the years, and what made him so special.
A recurring theme throughout the memorial was how kind, energetic, and positive the 28-year-old was. Former colleagues of Titch’s also took to the stage to share on how he went from dancing with the local dance clique, Freeze Frame, to being a backup dancer for Cassper Nyovest.
4. Rema celebrates his first Hot 100 top 10 hit with ‘Calm Down’
Rema can’t calm down after earning his career-first Billboard Hot 100 top 10 hit with “Calm Down,” featuring Selena Gomez. “Trying to hold in the tears, I know how hard I worked to get my sound here, I’m grateful to God for how far I’ve come,” Rema (real name Divine Ikubor) captioned an Instagram post of himself and a photo of the March 25-dated Hot 100 chart’s top 10. “Love to the ones who believed, love to the Queen @selenagomez.”
“Calm Down” was originally released on February 11, 2022, via Jonzing World, Mavin, SMG Music, Virgin, and Interscope. It was the second single from Rema’s debut studio album “Rave & Roses,” which peaked at No. 2 on Billboard‘s World Albums chart. The Gomez-assisted remix arrived on August 25, 2022, and went on to top Global Excl. U.S. as well as U.S. Afrobeats Songs, where it’s currently spending a 29th week at No. 1, marking the longest run at the top of the chart since Billboard and Afro Nation launched it in March 2022.

Kylian Mbappe has been selected as the new captain of France by manager Didier Deschamps ahead of their Euro 2024 qualifiers. After former skipper Hugo Lloris retired from international football following the 2022 World Cup, Deschamps was tasked with finding a new leader for Les Bleus. According to reports, the manager informed the France squad on Monday evening that Mbappe will get the armband. The Paris Saint-Germain superstar, who scored 36 goals in 66 appearances for his country, was confirmed as the new France captain on Tuesday as Deschamps made his decision public in an interview.
“Kylian Mbappe is the new captain of the Blues. Antoine Griezmann is the vice-captain,” he said. “Kylian meets all the boxes to have this responsibility. On the field as in group life, by being a unifying element.” Mbappe has already led France once in a Nations League clash against Denmark last September. He will now become one of the youngest captains in Les Bleus history, with Deschamps confident that the 24-year-old has matured enough to lead the side on the back of his stellar 2022 World Cup performance.
