1. DaBaby arrested in Beverly Hills

DaBaby has been arrested. The 29-year-old rapper — born Jonathan Lyndale Kirk — was photographed getting handcuffed by a police officer in Beverly Hills, California on Thursday, January 7. DaBaby was out shopping on Rodeo Drive when he was arrested at 4:45 p.m. He was wearing a sweatsuit, white Yeezy foam runners, and a protective face mask during the arrest.
DaBaby and three friends were in their car and about to drive away when police cars pulled up and surrounded their vehicle. The “Suge” rapper and the other three men were detained as police searched their car, where the handgun was found.
2. Nigeria: Olamide Baddo crowned most indigenous artiste of the decade

Olamide has been crowned the most indigenous artiste of the decade. The acknowledgment of the singer’s musical talent sprung from a Nigerian lifestyle and music channel, Sound City. According to the acclaimed pan-African urban music television channel, Olamide has been delivering hits back to back in his local language, Yoruba for the last 10 years.
Olamide Baddo started his career with ID Cabasa’s coded Tunes record label headed by Toni Payne where he did his first studio album. He later left in 2012 to start his own record label.
3. South Africa: Caster Semenya celebrates birthday and wedding anniversary on same day

World champion athlete Caster Semenya celebrated her 30th birthday and 4th wedding anniversary in one day. Semenya was born on January 7, 1991. Taking to social media, the record-breaker shared a video featuring some of the best moments from her wedding with wife, Violet Raseboya. She wrote: “So today I celebrated my birthday and our anniversary, #casvio.”
Raseboya also took to Instagram to wish her champion wife a happy birthday. The couple welcomed their first child in June last year.
4. Ghana: Akufo-Addo focusing on establishing a strong economy in 2nd term

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has stated that establishing a strong economy will be the main preoccupation of his second term as President of Ghana. In his inaugural address for a second four-year term yesterday in Accra, President Akufo-Addo said a strong economy will generate jobs for young people and enhance living standards to the levels Ghanaians expect.
He also urged all Ghanaians to continue to be active participants in growing the economy of Ghana.
5. Arsenal take out £120m loan to help with COVID-19 impact

Arsenal has taken out a short-term £120m loan to help deal with the impact of the coronavirus pandemic. The club says they “met the criteria set by the Bank of England for the COVID-19 Corporate Financing Facility” and a loan which is repayable in May 2021.
The Gunners were one of the clubs to briefly welcome back some fans recently. However, the return of supporters was halted as coronavirus cases increased and greater restrictions were enforced.
