Creative Genius! Meet Oresegun Olumide, The Painter Whose Work Of Art Looks Amazingly Real | Battabox

There are so many talented people in Nigeria who make and create things that are out of this world. Just like Mr. Oresegun Olumide who has taken Nigerian Art to another level with his unique water paintings and realistic looking artworks.

Born in Ikorodu, a suburb of Lagos, Oresegun Olumide’s love for drawing and painting started when he was 4. He is an alumnus of Yaba College of Technology, Yaba, Lagos where he graduated with a distinction in Fine Art. He cites Pablo Picasso and Michelangelo di Lodovico Buonarroti Simoni as his role models.

Olumide started painting professionally in 2005. His drawing and painting are inspired by his environment, mostly using water as the principal theme of his works. Olumide currently owns an art studio in Ikorodu where he showcases his works and exhibitions.

BattaBox presenter Adeola found Mr. Oresegun Olumide whose artworks and paintings went viral on the internet earlier this year in March and had an interesting discussion with him.

“The pretty little girl in the paintings is my neighbor,” he says, “I’ve been painting her before she was born,” he continues…

“Water painting could be quite difficult,” he explained his challenges.

Mr. Oresegun further narrated how he’s painted some of his works close to eight years ago, some of which are just beginning to gain exposure.

“It took me about four months to complete one painting,” he continued

Adeola didn’t leave his studio without getting a lovely piece of herself.
