Coach has announced Lil Nas X as its latest ambassador. The Tapestry inc-owned brand announced during its NYFW show that the American musician is the latest addition to its ever-expanding team of ambassadors. After Coach teased the announcement for days on Instagram, Lil Nas X closed the brand’s Spring/Summer 2023 show at the Park Avenue Armory on Monday, September 12. He sported leather shorts and a vest down the brand’s sunset-hued runway, designed to evoke New York City’s piers.

“Lil Nas is a fabulous representation of the authenticity of a Gen-Zer who has the courage to be real,” said chief executive Todd Kahn. Lil Nas X joins a diverse cast of Coach faces, including Jennifer Lopez, Megan Thee Stallion, Michael B. Jordan, Köki, Noah Beck, and Wisdom Kaye.

2. Rema earns first Billboard Hot 100 entry with ‘Calm Down’ remix

Rema’s “Calm Down” remix featuring Selena Gomez has debuted on the Billboard Hot 100. This earns him his first Billboard Hot 100 entry. In the chart dated September 17, 2022, the “Calm Down” remix debuts at number 91 on the chart. This comes after enjoying a decent streaming run in America that’s notably propelled by Gomez’s appearance on the track.

It was clear that the choice of Selena Gomez for the remix was motivated by the desire to reach American listeners.

Congratulations to both artists.

3. South Africa: NaakMusiQ’s girlfriend Robyn calls off engagement

Anga “NaakMusiQ” Makubalo’s supposed fiancé Robyn Leigh has revealed she has called off their “engagement.” Robyn shared the news with her followers on Instagram on Monday as she celebrated her birthday. “Entering a new season and ending another, I am no longer engaged to Anga,” she wrote. In January this year, rumors of NaakMusiQ and Robyn being engaged spread across social media after she was spotted with a diamond rock on her ring finger.

The actor and musician’s manager Nyagunda Ngwenya previously said there was no truth to the rumors, while NaakMusiQ called it “fake news” on social media. A post of him allegedly claiming Robyn had bought the ring with her own money, and that she was allowed to do with it as she pleased, also went viral. In it, he allegedly said it was no one’s business where she wore her ring.

4. Ghana: Black Sherif nominated for 2022 BET Hip Hop Awards

Rapper Black Sherif has secured his first global nomination in the 2022 edition of the BET Hip Hop Awards. He was nominated in the coveted Best International Flow category with stiff competition from UK’s Knucks, South Africa’s Blxckie, and France’s Benjamin Epps.

Others in the competition include Le Juice from France, Central Cee from the UK, Nadia Nakai from South Africa, Tasha and Tracie from Brazil, and Haviah Mighty from Canada. Black Sherif is the only Ghanaian nominated for the 2022 edition of the BET Hip Hop Awards.

Congratulations to the artist.

5. Ancelotti responds to fresh transfer links with Mbappe

Carlo Ancelotti has batted away fresh claims that Kylian Mbappe could join Real Madrid, insisting he is focused on his own in-form strike force. For much of the 2021-22 season, it looked as though the Frenchman would make the move to Santiago Bernabeu. However, he opted to stay in Paris at the eleventh hour, signing a two-year contract with the option of another year.

Ancelotti has been asked whether Madrid’s doors are still open to the World Cup winner. He replied at a press conference: “I give up! I give up with that question! To be honest, we’re excited about the forwards we have, above all the youngsters.” Mbappe has himself indicated that a potential switch to the Spanish capital remains in the back of his mind.
