French soccer star, Olivier Giroud has announced his departure from AC Milan to join Major League Soccer (MLS) in the summer, with a confirmed move to LAFC. This comes after four years in Milan, having joined them from Chelsea in 2021. Giroud had a great season in 2023–24, scoring 14 goals and making eight assists in Serie A. His move to the LAFC will be significant, as the American side has been in search of a strong forward since Carlos Vela, a former MLS MVP, left last summer.
Giroud will team up with Denis Bouanga, who won the MLS Golden Boot in 2023, forming a powerful attacking duo. Additionally, he’ll reunite with his longtime friend and former France teammate, Hugo Lloris, in Los Angeles. Giroud also stated that his last two matches for Milan this season will be his final games before he heads to MLS.
