he beauty scene last week turned out to be a doffing of the hat ceremony to celebrities’ signature looks. It’s true that we appreciate a good switch-up every so often, but sometimes, the tried-and-trusted pull-ups are a dependable way to seal the deal. And with high-brow events beckoning celebs to slay, a number of them answered punctuated by signature elements in the hair and makeup departments.

If there’s one celebrity who knows how to nail a smokey eye and make it a signature look, it’s Monica Denise Arnold. Whether muted or enlivened with shimmers, Madame Arnold never drops the ball with this one. Last week, the singer went smokey again, this time in brown and black tones with a hint of shimmer. To tie it nicely together, a matte lipstick was invited to the party and correctly fulfilled its task.
Alicia Keys famously ditched makeup in 2016 but made a U-turn, with a catch. Now, she wears makeup according to her own beauty standards. Simply put, she approaches it as an avenue to reveal her authentic self, not someone else. And that is her signature. Keys graced the cover of InStyle Magazine in a no-makeup makeup look that emphasized her features with an ethereal softness to it. If there’s one thing we’ve learned from this songstress, it’s that authenticity will never go out of style.
Hair
At this point, we can all agree that Beyoncé is in her secure-the-bag-in-extravagant-style era, and we aren’t complaining. Last week, the Queen wrapped up the European leg of her Renaissance tour giving a nod to her signature half-up-half-down hairstyle to perfection. She can claim legal rights to the hairstyle and there’ll be no pushbacks as no one does it like her. A Queen!
