Last Week’s Best Beauty Looks Were Uncompromisingly Impeccable

he apex of celebs’ gathering last week was the Met Gala where classic Parisian chic conspicuously merged with contemporary finesse and pure extravaganza to create a sight for sore eyes. As the stars came decked in Lagerfeld-worthy fits, they made sure to punctuate with impeccable makeup and hairstyles that corresponded with the pompous atmosphere. Of course, there was also the coronation of King Charles III that offered another reason for Black girls to stun. Indeed, the celebrity beauty looks at the Met Gala and other events were innovative and unique, each wielding its own sense of je ne sais quoi.

It’s not a general consensus that melanin-rich girls should opt for a deep shade of lipstick, but Adut Akech Bior makes us wonder why that’s the case. At the Met Gala, the model (who’s also one of Karl Lagerfeld’s muses) rocked a solid black lipstick that had a sense of dangerous sexiness. The Color Fix “Blackout” lipstick sat proudly on her deep skin, as her highlighter brought in the necessary sparkle. Created by Keita Moore, this is one of the celebrity beauty looks at the Met Gala that was hard to ignore.

Yara Shahidi, in a face beat by Nikki Makeup, continued the deep lipstick trend with a brown ombré lip that was reminiscent of the 90s runway. Her arched skinny brow and sharp winged liner maintained the authentic 90’s flair and the result was a downright sultry affair. 

Hair

Meanwhile, at the coronation of King Charles III, Afrobeats Queen Tiwa Savage performed to the delight of raving fans. Beyond the unforgettable show she put on, what further added to the moment was Savage herself. The mother-of-one stole hearts with a sleek, wavy hairstyle that featured a deep center part. The hairdo highlighted her high cheekbones and face shape while complementing her emerald green dress.
