Lagos Lately: See The Sleek Looks Spotted On Nigerian Style Stars

Nigerian celebrities style

When something is undeniably impressive, we call it splendid. Over the past weeks, Nigerian style stars have showcased interesting color plays and silhouettes–ones we truly deem splendid. Buying designer clothes is one thing, but styling them with finesse is an entirely different art. The consistent beguiling looks spotted on Nigerian style stars were in tandem with their charismatic personalities. Whether through exaggerated collars, lush textures, or subtle embellishments, these fashion-forward women made it their mission to elevate the fashion scene.

Lagos is known for its bubbling persona, which easily rubs off on its inhabitants. The outfits took quite the personality and were indeed fit for all occasions. From running errands to album photo shoots, the steeze was a common denominator.

Check out the cool style takes as seen on Nigerian star girls these past weeks…

#1. Mini Yina

Big collars have become the main characters in high-end outfits. They fit into an elevated white button-down shirt as much as a luxe number or suit. Talented Nigerian designer Mimi Yina gave the fad a fresh take. She slayed in a white shirt that featured an exaggerated collar and lace-hem sleeves styled with a floral mini dress. The fabrics and soft tones blended in symphony, while her silver purse punctuated the already rich serve.

#2. Osas Ighodaro

Osas with the sauce. Being hot is enough ruffling, but riding on the audacity of a red lace dress with floral details should be punishable by the law. This midi Weiz Dhurm Franklyn number is an instant rizz elevator. The combination of lace and velvet on the bust and barely-there rosette sleeves made for an appealing sight. To drive home her sexy point, she winged her liner with pump and slapped on red lipstick in solidarity. To show off the bold earrings and rosette details, Osas Ighodaro slicked her hair into a well-laid bun.

#3. Asa

Bukola Elemide, popularly known as Asa, is arguably one of the elite Nigerian musicians. Her eclectic taste spreads across her personality, music, and style. Perhaps, someday, she would share her anti-aging potion with us. But before then, let’s talk about the chic style of this Nigerian vocal sensation. Asa represented youthfulness in a Vicnate getup that saw black and gold dance in symphony. The Paris-born artist wore a black sleeveless mini dress styled with knee-high boots. She opted for flipped locs for a touch of originality and gold earrings that threw in a simplistic aura. As easy to pull off as this may seem, her personality makes it a stand-out lewk.

#4. Veekee James

To reiterate, collars are having their moment. Designer Veekee James was out and about in the streets of London, serving hot Nigerian style in a red and white frock. Everything about this look screams creativity and elegance. From the long flare sleeves to the strategic color play, shoulder pads, mono collar, and composure, the offering was a legit brag move. There’s no sleeping on color plays this season. For extra points, fine tailoring always comes correct.

#5. Nancy Isime

There are blazer dresses whose design only caters to practicality, and there are the options fashioned after the similitude of a palace. The latter best describes this white Julyet Peters number on actress Nancy Isime. The fit stayed on course, rightly aligning to curves, and held adornments on the sleeves that added a luxurious touch. Clearly, a white dress with intricate details can do no wrong.

#6. Tana Adelana

On a movie set, but never to be caught unfresh, actress Tana Adelana effortlessly pulled off a casual denim fit. She chose a pink oversized shirt and breezy jeans. An otherwise regular coordination save for charisma and details. Her oversized sunglasses and the side slits on her bottoms added extra oomph to the relaxed look. To achieve this result, opt for just-the-right-fit oversized pieces, which are often big enough without threatening to swallow up your frame.

#7. Zainab Balogun

When culottes aren’t styled nicely, they result in unnecessary complications. Not a problem for media girl Zainab Balogun who seemed to have curved the piece’s tail. She opted for a pleated rendition paired with a sheer black top and printed outerwear. The proportions were right as she pulled off a risky move with Zebra print pumps, which surprisingly synchronized with the outfit.
