Known for her powerful anthems which are usually a favourite among the young adults and teenage groups, Carly Rae Jepsen is most definitely a force worth reckoning with and overtime her music has grown to be a genre by itself. How so? Well, the Canadian singer has been able to make pop songs created for the young at heart.
Carly Rae’s songs tend to tackle issues and themes which youngsters are all too familiar with like first loves, new crushes and the likes without getting too sad or angsty. Carly Rae Jepsen has managed to remain almost permanently on the sunny side of town and has grown a loyal fanbase who will readily agree with me that she is yet to release a bad song.
Her last album E.MO.TION was released in 2015 and since that time, she has released a few collaborative works like Hate That You Know Me with Bleachers and Backseat with Charli XCX. With a new album scheduled to be released in 2019, we are definitely ready for the musical excellence coming our way in this new Carly Rae era we are about to step into. If her latest single, Party Of One is anything to go by, this new album will be as amazing, and a cohesive work of art just like her other albums.
Party of One is a fun yet empowering song which encourages you to spend time with yourself and enjoy your time alone. It is a song I feel will be an absolute hit among the youth and frankly, most adults, because every now and then one needs some alone time and Party of One celebrates just that. The bubbly track has Carly Rae celebrating herself in spite of the heartbreak she seems to have just gone through. Similarly, the music video features various guests checking into their hotel rooms and seemingly going through different rituals to recover from their heartbreak like dancing, eating and putting on makeup before all storming down to the lobby for a party; almost solidifying the saying that misery loves company.
