1. Burna Boy performs at Louis Vuitton afterparty

Nigerian superstar Burna Boy added another notch to his belt, thrilling the audience at the recent Louis Vuitton afterparty held on Tuesday, June 18. The event, which took place after one of the world’s most prestigious fashion shows, saw Burna Boy take center stage and deliver an electrifying performance.

Videos circulating online show the Grammy-winning artist captivating the crowd with his energy. This isn’t the only win for Nigerian music at the event. Fellow Nigerian musicians Wizkid, Tems, Rema, and Adekunle Gold were also spotted in attendance, showcasing the growing influence of Afrobeats on the global stage.

2. Ella Mai and Jayson Tatum spark pregnancy rumors

Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum’s NBA championship win might not be the only celebration on the horizon for him and his rumored partner, singer Ella Mai. Social media erupted in speculation Tuesday after a video surfaced showing Mai at a championship party with what appeared to be a baby bump.

While the couple has kept their relationship largely private, they’ve been spotted together at Celtics games and Mai concerts for years. The latest rumors stem from a clip circulating online where Mai, clad in a Celtics jersey, appears to have a visible bump. This follows another video showing her in a hallway at the arena, also sparking pregnancy talk. Neither Mai nor Tatum have addressed the rumors directly.

3. South Africa: Mafikizolo’s Nhlanhla Mafu opens up about hearing loss and the path to recovery

South African singer Nhlanhla Mafu, one-half of the popular duo Mafikizolo, has bravely shared her struggles with hearing loss. Mafu revealed she has been experiencing hearing difficulties for some time, impacting both her professional and personal life. In a recent interview, she spoke about the challenges faced during interviews and social gatherings due to her impaired hearing. Her partner, Theo Kgosinkwe, often has to repeat questions for her, making her feel isolated at times and unable to fully participate in conversations.

The cause of Mafu’s hearing loss is believed to be noise-induced hearing loss (NIHL), likely due to prolonged exposure to loud music throughout her career. She performed extensively for over two decades, both in recording studios and during energetic stage shows. Despite her initial fear and the stigma surrounding hearing loss, Mafu sought professional help in 2022 and has since taken steps to manage her condition. Mafu is also using her platform to raise awareness about hearing loss and the importance of early diagnosis and treatment.

4. Court date set for Justin Timberlake following overnight DUI arrest in the Hamptons

Singer Justin Timberlake is facing driving under the influence (DUI) charges after being pulled over early Tuesday morning in Sag Harbor, a village in the Hamptons. According to police reports, Timberlake was driving a BMW around 12:30 am when an officer stopped him for running a stop sign and swerving out of his lane. Police say he exhibited signs of intoxication and performed poorly on field sobriety tests, leading to his arrest.

Timberlake was arraigned later that morning and released on his recognizance. A court date has been scheduled for July 26. Timberlake’s representatives have not yet commented on the arrest.

5. Djokovic to compete at Paris Olympics

Novak Djokovic will be gracing the courts at the Paris Olympics after all! The Serbian Olympic Committee announced that the 37-year-old tennis legend will be representing his country at the competition. Djokovic’s participation was thrown into question earlier this month after he suffered a torn meniscus during his French Open victory over Francisco Cerundolo. The injury forced him to withdraw from his quarterfinal match and undergo surgery.

This news comes as a welcome relief to tennis fans who feared they wouldn’t see Djokovic compete for Olympic gold. His recovery appears to be on track, and he’ll be looking to add another Olympic medal to his impressive collection.
