Lagos-based Nigerian fashion brand, Elpis Megalio has released its ready-to-wear line in anticipation of Fall/Winter 2018. The brand, which believes in celebrating uniqueness and individuality, tagged this collection as ‘COINCIDENTALIA’.
The idea of Coincidentalia came together as a cohesive whole living in separates by a stint of sheer coincidence. While the entire creative process seemed well thought out, it was broken in different times as the quest to keep creating kept springing up diverse ideas till its fragments were pieced together as a full body of work. With contemporary fashion bending towards the street of nonchalance, the seasonal narrative features a range of wearable onesies and separates that can live on and off each other, pulled together or pieced apart as a stand-alone ensemble.
According to the label’s creative director, Olufunke Afolabi,
“Coincidentalia was a clear reminder that sometimes art comes together effortlessly without the stereotype process stitched to creating a collection”.
