Last Week’s Best Beauty Looks Were A Parade Of Palpable Exuberance

ights, camera, slay,” seemed to be the motto last week as Black celebs seized every opportunity to reiterate their style status. From Cannes to Venice, Los Angeles to Lagos, the girls came decked in irresistible beauty offerings that had all eyes glued on them. Harry Winston said: “People will stare, make it worth their while,” and we can attest that Black celebs ensured our time was well spent.

The Cannes Film Festival kicked off last week and one of the heaviest-hitting slay came from where many didn’t expect: Nigeria. Nollywood star Chika Ike made headlines on the best-dressed list of many global publications in her emerald green number that caused a stir. To complement the statement dress, the actress opted for a subtle face beat characterized by soft brows, smokey eyes, and nude lips. This was no doubt the right call to match the pompous outfit.

Meanwhile, in Venice, Zendaya decided it was a mission to shine brighter than the Bulgari jewels on display at the reveal of the Bulgari Mediterranea High Jewelry collection at the Palazzo Ducale. For the event, the star girl favored deep, smokey eyes enlivened with gold eyeshadow that added depth to her eyes. She soften the bad-girl eyes with rosy cheeks and nude lips that played up her feminine side. This juxtaposition ensured that Zendaya was one of the black celebs who offered beauty looks that were absolutely divine.

Hair

As Chika Ike and Zendaya served Black girl magic in Europe, Sharon Ooja did the same in Lagos for the African Magic Viewer’s Choice awards. For the night, the actress donned sleek finger waves that played up her strong features.
