h, wasn’t last week the week for celebrations! As we converged in gratitude for what the year brought, the families we have, and of course, the food, Black girls reiterated that Thanksgiving isn’t really complete without a good doll-up. The week began strong with the American Music Awards, climaxed with a Thanksgiving special, and went even further with the 2022 Soul Train Music Awards. In all these, there was no opportunity for the girls to drop the ball in the beauty department giving us more than enough looks to be thankful for. best hair and makeup.

After a three-year hiatus, rap sensation Eve gave an unforgettable performance at the Bulgari Serpenti Metamorphosis exhibition at the Saatchi Gallery in London. Yet, it wasn’t only her performance that itched its place in our minds as the star favored a clean facebeat for the stellar show. The look, created by Esther Edeme, featured warm tones on her lips that played up the glam vibe of her all-black ensemble and the sparkle of her Bulgari jewelry.
Over in Nigeria, Gen-Z music star Ayra Starr continued the warm tones code with a hip, edgy, and downright flirty look. The Bloody Samaritan hitmaker had her eyelids fierce-ified with a red shadow in a winged-liner method in such a way that accentuated her beautiful eyes, and her lengthy lashes added to the sultry vibe. What better way to finish the sexiness than with nude, glossy lips? What we particularly loved about this look is how all elements maintained their positions without trying to overpower each other.
Meanwhile, we’re in wedding season and legendary Nollywood actress Rita Dominic got hitched church-wedding style last week. For her big day, the multiple award-winning star opted for a refreshing beat that played up both classic and modern vibes suited for a 2022 bride.

If the makeup was anything to go by last week, then we easily expected the hair department to carry on with the fun. And it did. Ladies, may we excite you with a retro glam wavy hai do spotted on none other than the iconic Tyra Banks. Ms. Banks graced the stage of Dancing with the Stars giving a nod to old Hollywood darlings, Josephine Baker, Lena Horne, and Dorothy Dandridge with this hairstyle created by Kim Kimble.
