With finely crafted rig-outs, Black stars made their way to the forefront of fashion last week. Although the red carpet was a tad scarce, due to a decline in high-profile gatherings, this didn’t hinder the tenacity of true style. Off-duty looks slapped, streetwear held their end with decorated sets, and choice events sizzled with sassy representations.
The Looks
Beyoncé made a quick appearance on the internet, and the BeyHive didn’t know how to act. For her appearance, she was a sight in a draped Mugler mini dress with a corseted bodice. She elevated this with ankle-strap pumps and talk-of-the-town blonde hair. Oh, and we can’t forget the extra train that made for a picture-perfect moment.
Giving a nod to black and white, Naturi Naughton rendered dapper in a chic jumpsuit for her appearance on The View. The cargo look held a gold adornment on the waistline, which tallied with her hair decorations. She styled this with a white button-down shirt, black pumps, and a solid tie for good measure. Bonang Matheba also hopped on the black-and-white trend but chose a mini dress and tights for a feminine appeal. The two looks depicted the versatility of a black and white outfit, in and out of season.
In the heat of summer, the London streets seemed to defy the heat with chilly stares that would make you run to leather for refuge. So was the case for Sabrina Elba as she strutted the street in a sheer nude skirt styled with an army green leather jacket and knee-high boots. Apart from minimal tones still claiming superiority, skirts have reintroduced themselves in varying renditions.
