Last Week The Best Dressed Stars Patronized Edge And Glamour

L

ast week was an entire high-tempo event from start to finish. One way to tell a fab week for fashion is the serial slay on celebrities who merge with their efficient glam team to embody a peacocky display of trends and class. While we low-key wonder about their sleep routine, the back-to-back style renderings was enough to shift our focus to something more spectacular.

New York Fashion Week can always be described as a beautiful form of chaos. The busyness of the fashion business was evident with elegantly clad black celebs parading in custom couture and swoon-worthy ensembles. Elsewhere, audacious celebrities like Lizzo and Jodie Smith owned the Brits award style. And then, there was Superbowl 2023, aka Fenty Bowl (sighs). Rihanna made a comeback after nearly seven years of her on-stage hiatus. And because she is Rihanna, the star doubled her performance as a pregnancy announcement for baby number two with her partner, A$AP Rocky.

The Looks

The BRIT Awards was Lizzo runway. In addition to her sensational stage performance of ‘2 Be Loved’ and ‘About Damn Time,’ the star stunned in a metallic Robert Wun golden phoenix gown. This was a similar dress to the one Quinta Brunson rocked for the Critics Choice Awards, and Afrobeats star Tiwa Savage has also been spotted doing the number justice. Despite being a celebrity favorite, the signature pleats and matching Anabela Chan jewelry ticked all the boxes, and are a reminder that more is more if you can pull it off like Lizzo.

Meanwhile, top model Cindy Bruna attended the Viktor & Rolf flower bomb after party in a voguish androgynous take from the brand. The model donned a striped shirt with a structured collar and tie fixture. She paired the delightful shirt with high-waisted black pants and pumps. Arguably, the details on the shirt’s collar repel slouching and skaters a squared shoulder game. Fashion, when done with your uniqueness in kind, pumps up your confidence level. No doubt, this is the permission you never needed to be yourself.

Iconic singer Alicia Keys took us to the Egyptian era in a flattering red dress with beaded cornrows. The sleeves were constructed as a glove, and its flowing hem enhanced the feminine magic only Keys could bring. She held a party with friends as the first woman to partner with Hennessy, and stars like Gabrielle Union showed up in support and, of course, matched the slay energy. (P.S: Also, sign us up ASAP for Keys’ skincare routine).
