Last Week’s Best Dressed Stars Enhanced The Power Of Proportions

We are used to the stars glimmering, but the past week saw a fiery incandescence. As celebrities went about their engagements, their outfits lived up to their reputation, bringing the heat and standing out in knowing crowds. From sexy black dresses to hot red numbers, these style stars made a case for offerings that punched up their personalities with witty details and refined charm.

The presentations held onto frames with luxurious textures and interesting cuts.
But as a good number of celebs favored figure-accentuating ensembles, a few others chose bulky substitutes, highlighting that layering in summer isn’t a bad idea.

The Looks

Ahead of her Fenty Hair launch, Rihanna continued to promote Fenty Beauty in Shanghai. For the occasion, the businesswoman opted for a red Ferragamo dress with loop details on the skirt that added a splash of character to the simple number. She enlivened the look with red leather elbow-length gloves, matching strappy pumps, and a blonde fringe hairstyle. Riri, who has been recently acquainted with cozy oversized getups, took a break to make a “Lady in Red” statement—an “IT Girl” move.

Bridgerton’s Queen Charlotte, Golda Rosheuvel, wore a Rahul Mishra pink number to present the Breakthrough Limited Series recognition at the Gotham TV Awards. The voluminous dress flaunted fringe details on the hem, and she upped the tempo with black leather gloves for a max factor.

This season, mini dresses are all the rave, as textures and silhouettes take an interesting turn. Victoria Monet and Latoya Tonodeo brought sass in black velvet numbers that boasted varying accompaniments. Tonodeo attended Power Book II: Ghost’s final season premiere in a cut-out shoulder-padded Bronx and Banco dress studded with silver details on the bodice. Meanwhile, Victoria Monet’s delivery leaned toward styling. She styled the Atelier couture mini pleated number with elbow-length gloves, black tights, and diamond jewelry, resulting in a luxe approach to sexy.

While black minis were having their moment, Jodie Turner-Smith chose to flaunt her flamboyant aura in a colorful, structured peplum Balmain mini number at the Disney+ and The Cinema Society Screening of Acolyte. The dress, with a quilted texture, featured embellishments that matched her eyeshadow. She completed the look with metallic sandal heels. Don’t fumble on interesting minis this season.
