Last week, style navigated between simple and extravagant as the best-dressed Black men showed out everywhere from major red carpets to concerts and fashion week shows, subtly blurring the lines between daytime and nighttime takes.

Who has time for a glitzy and extravagant outfit when a set of very stylish loungewear can do the trick? Consider Wizkid, the Nigerian singer who has been making major waves internationally and is currently on tour in the United States. Last Tuesday night, he invaded Silver Spring, Maryland in an all-black ensemble. His minimal yet thoughtfully fashionable outfit captured the season’s luxe and easy mood. This summer, Big Wiz has made a case for loungewear as those are the only outfits he’s been spotted in. This has certainly inspired people to go back to the once-upon-a-time trend, further proving that Wizkid isn’t just a skilled artist, but also a trend reviver. The Met Gala arrived in style last Monday, and we saw the best of the best grace the red carpet and stairs of the famous Metropolitan Museum in New York. One such is Formula One racer and activist Lewis Hamilton, who after surviving a near-death experience at the Italian Grand Prix, made his way to the Big Apple’s biggest fashion event wearing a black suit over a white asymmetrical hem mesh shirt by Black designer Kenneth Nicholson. He complimented the look with a pair of black leather boots. Notably, he bought his entire table for underrated Black designers who “deserve this moment just as much as any other designer who attends the Met Gala.”
