Last Week, The Best Beauty Looks Were An Irresistible Blend Of Character And Style

ast week, Black celebities ensured that they ushered us into the month of December with a heavy bang, making it seem like every beauty take that was offered prior was just a tease. Of course, we know that seems far-reaching considering the beauty looks we’ve seen since the start of the year, but girl, this latest curation takes the sensation a bit further. From dramatic wings to unapologetic pouts, unconventional cuts to regal styling, Black women dared to raise the dike and the beauty department vibrated as a result. 

The Looks

Makeup

The floating liner will always be the call when the goal is to make a strong statement without bringing a ton of activity to your face. With only a few strokes, it packs enough punch to elevate your entire face so you can keep the rest of your look subtle. Last week, two of our stars favored this eyeliner style in their own unique way, and the two renditions were phenomenal. In one instance, Monica Brown favored thick black strokes and in another, Chloe Bailey brought the fun with metallic strokes. 

Elsewhere, the votes came in for the chicest, sleekest, and most effortless subtle take and Nigerian actress Sharon Ooja ranked high on the list. What was intended to be a simple pose for IG ended up making the list of our best celebrity makeup looks from the week thanks to the clever marriage of neutrals and a soft smokey eye. 

Hair

At the Gotham Awards last week, Gabrielle Union showed up giving full-on goddess vibes in a voluminous top bun held in place with gold bands. The metallic hint of the bands added notable character to her entire ensemble.
