n the beauty menu last week sizzled a variety of contemporary offerings cooked to perfection and served hot on Black girls. While each girl dared to take an individual spin, all looks still managed to be united by the quest for a bold statement. Ciara embodied true feline goodness last week with a face beat that put her eyes on focus. Her deep, smokey eyes paired with her bold brows played up her hard-to-miss strong cheeks and jawline. With the heavy edge of this look, an element of balance was needed and that was accomplished with neutral lips. We absolutely love! Elsewhere at the American Music Awards, Latto advocated for a sultry, powerful take. The music star showed up on the red carpet with sharp wings and deep red lips that added an interesting flair to her all-black outfit.
Hair
Short and blunt was spotted on a number of stars last week, but our favorite of all was by far Sabrina Elba. The model opted for a sleek style that featured three parts — a top bun, loose bottom, and a front, side sweep. Meanwhile, Jodie Turner-Smith added a dramatic touch to her short hair with a vibrant shade of purple that served as a sharp contrast to her deep melanin-rich skin.
