Last Week’s Best Beauty Looks Were Heavy On Contemporary Glam

n the ever-bustling world of celebrities, there’s always more than enough reason to keep tabs on the stars — a top being the undeniable dedication to slay. Even in relatively calm seasons with sparse events, these ladies seize every opportunity to make a statement. Last week, the cities of London and Los Angeles dared to see how far things can go and offered the girls a moment to shine; to which they responded in beauty looks that etched is place in the annals of glam.

Understated glam has taken preeminence in the beauty world, and it’s not difficult to see why. First is its versatility as it complements any skin tone and outfit. Next is the air of effortlessness it evokes — a certain charm of not having to do too much. Last week, Kelly Rowland opted for the rich Latte Makeup trend, giving a nod to understated glam. 

While most people spent a good chunk of the week talking about Halle Bailey’s “pregnancy,” we spent it drooling over her face beat for the Glamour Woman of the Year awards. For the night in London, the star girl reminded us never to underestimate the power of red to make a head-turning statement. Her subtle look featured lightly-filled brows, soft smokey eyes, warm cheeks, and hot red lipstick for a good pop. Another star who certainly took the city of London by storm is Leigh-Anne Pinnock for the Glamour Woman of the Year award. The singer dazzled in maxi braids by Afro hair expert, Molecia Seasay that tug at our hearts’ strings.
