Alainé by Celine, a bespoke and ready to wear brand has taken the creativity to another level where the brand has uniquely fused Western and Nigerian traditional styles for its new collection called ‘Virgo’.
The collection contains a diverse and unique range of pieces put together like never seen, hence, creating a unique, classy Iro and Buba with a contemporary twist to the traditional attire. The brand’s focus is its faux wrapper: skirts and dresses sewn to give the illusion of an Iro, without the complexities involved in tying a traditional one.
According to the brand,
“This is a collection of Western and Nigerian styles, fusing a mix of Ankara, crêpe, organza and striped shirting. Taking its inspiration from Nigerian women and their different personalities, Alainé seeks to provide women with pieces for every mood: from simple and elegant, to sexy and fierce, everything that embodies the Alainé woman. This collection also seeks to bridge the cultural divide between western styles and Nigerian traditional dress by way of a new take on the Iro and Buba. It features luxurious yet practical pieces, and aims to be on-trend yet timeless.”
