Leaving a promising career as a lawyer to pursue painting and eventually photography was without a doubt a risky move for Kelechi Amadi-Obi but the dexterous artist has proven he truly is gifted at his craft. Since his emergence on the photography scene, the award-winning creative genius has worked with some of the biggest names in the Nigerian TV/film and fashion industries and ultimately launching fashion magazine Style Mania.
His ability to tell interesting stories with a single shot is evident of his understanding of the power of a camera and the right amount of light. What further sets Kelechi apart is his passion for his subjects; capturing them using different approaches and angles and in turn producing stunning images that showcase them at their greatest strengths. The self-taught photog recently launched a YouTube series where he shares some of his latest projects with fans. The first of the series features BTS video of a birthday shoot he recently covered for Nollywood star Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde. According to Kelechi, “the idea was to shoot in and around a private jet to tell the story of her success. This was a shoot for Omotola on her 40th birthday.”
