Arise Fashion Week 2019 took off on Friday, April 19 with a good number of emerging and eminent brands showcasing their designs on what’s been hailed as “the most beautiful runway in Africa.” The venue was the Lagos Continental Hotel in Victoria Island as Swedish-Eritrean designer, Selam Fessahaye delivered unconventional fashion on an eccentric palette.
Floating in iridescent, bright and powerful hues, the 2019 Autumn/Winter collection showcased by Selam Fessahaye easily stood out on the runway. With this collection, the brand was able to visually alter the predictable tone of fashion for men and women today. That they did by unfolding designs that are unapologetically audacious in cut, colour and silhouette.
Strutting with such finesse, the models dazzled in contrasting patterns, asymmetrical cuts, sheer fabrics and rich florals which made up the collection of oversized blazers, coats, victorian-styled gowns and more.
With each uniquely interesting silhouette, Selam Fessahaye made several strong statements on the Arise runway in the chicest yet most eccentric way possible.
