Banele and Bandile Mbere of Major League DJz are flying the SA flag high and taking exceptional strides beyond the borders of South Africa. Recently, the pair hosted their famous Balcony Mix in London with Uncle Vinny, DBN Gogo and two of Nigeria’s biggest stars, Tiwa Savage and Burna Boy.

Savage took to the stage to perform her unreleased song “Cool Cool Fun” featuring the DJs and Luu Da DeeJay. It is expected to be released in mid-September. 4. Sha’Carri Richardson defeats Elaine Thompson-Herah to win 100M at World Athletics Continental Tour Meet

Competing in her first race in more than two months on Tuesday, August 30, Sha’Carri Richardson defeated Olympic champion Elaine Thompson-Herah of Jamaica to win the 100 meters at a World Athletics Continental Tour silver meet in Lucerne, Switzerland. Competing at the Spitzen Leichtathletik meeting, which reportedly presented cool, wet, and windy conditions, Richardson ran 11.29 to defeat Thompson-Herah by .01 of a second, according to reports.

Placed in adjacent lanes, the two sprinters ran almost neck-and-neck for the entire race with Richardson barely holding off the Olympic gold medalist at the end. The victory was Richardson’s first over Thompson-Herah in three attempts after defeats at the 2021 and 2022 Prefontaine Classic in Eugene, Oregon. Richardson made international headlines when she was barred from running for Team USA during the Tokyo Olympics last year after testing positive for marijuana use. She was given a 30-day ban, eliminating her from the competition.

5. Tuchel hit with another FA fine for comments about referee Anthony Taylor

Thomas Tuchel has been fined £20,000 for comments made about referee Anthony Taylor after Chelsea’s 2-2 draw with Tottenham earlier this month. Speaking after Harry Kane’s stoppage-time equalizer had earned Spurs a point, Tuchel hinted that Taylor should no longer be allowed to officiate Chelsea games. The derby was a feisty affair and Tuchel previously received a one-game touchline ban and a £35,000 fine for clashing with Antonio Conte, with both managers seeing red at full-time.

The referee made several controversial decisions during the game, including failing to penalize Cristian Romero for pulling Marc Cucurella’s hair in the lead-up to Tottenham’s late leveler. After the match, a petition to prevent Taylor from taking charge of Chelsea games was set up — and it currently has 160,000 signatures.
