CNN’s Chief International Anchor, Christiane Amanpour recently sat down with the iconic editor-in-chief of Vogue, Anna Wintour, in an exclusive interview where they talked about Anna’s love for sunglasses, fur, Michelle Obama, Karl Lagerfeld’s passing, and the environmental impacts of fashion.
Anna Wintour who turns 70 in November has been the Editor-in-chief of Vogue since 1988 and she doesn’t seem to have plans of going anywhere soon. Anna is one woman who knows how to keep her personal life private hence she has no social media presence. Anna Wintour sunglasses.
According to CNN, “If the late Karl Lagerfeld was fashion’s commander-in-chief, Wintour is its head of state, enigmatically presiding over matters of style and culture far above the average Vogue reader’s head.”

On why she wears sunglasses most of the time
For Anna, the sunglasses have become a part of who she is. According to her, they are “incredibly useful because you avoid people knowing what you’re thinking about.”
Speaking about fearless women
When asked what she was trying to say through Vogue’s forays into politics, Anna said: “I don’t think it’s a moment not to take a stand … I believe, as I think those of us who work at Condé Nast believe, that you have to stand up for what you believe in and you have to take a point of view.”
On the subject of fur and climate crisis
Besides following best practices, Anna said “everybody is concerned about the climate crisis and what should be done to help. And obviously, we’re very aware, as other industries are, that we have been at fault and what can we do in the relatively short amount of time we have to course correct.”
