It’s been over a month now since the world got hit with the coronavirus global pandemic. This pandemic has led people to social distance, self-isolate and quarantine themselves in order to prevent the spread of the disease and #FlattenTheCurve.
This social distancing and self-isolation has led to a lot of people learning various skills, reaching out to others via live chats on social media and many more. On Wednesday, March 25, Ayo ‘AY The Comedian’ Makun reached out to British actor Idris Elba – one of the first celebrities to come out with news that he has been infected with the virus – and bonded over health, their wives and their love of fashion.
Idris Elba and his wife, Sabrina Dhowre, tested positive to the Coronavirus and they have both been in quarantine. When AY asked Idris Elba about he and his wife’s health, he said: “My wife and I good, we are feeling strong. We have been in quarantine for nearly 2 weeks. We are trying to maintain our mental health and our health. We’re doing okay man.”
AY also took the opportunity to promote his movie ‘Merry Men’ to Idris Elba and his fans, and also the wonderful works by Nigerian fashion designers.
The conversation was a lovely one to watch. It showed the love two black men of different upbringings and cultures have for each other, and proved to us that even in these trying times, the tiniest gestures can go a long way.
