It’s one thing to know a few style hacks and a different thing to be style personified. Last week, African celebrities and style stars proved on all fashion fronts that they are fully ready to make this summer a fashionable one. Think floor-sweeping classics, structured pieces, bodycon numbers and bold color takes.
While breezy dresses are always a summer staple, Nigerian style star Toke Makinwa decided to go the unpredictable route by opting for a sporty monochrome dressing in a jolt of joy-inducing color. She looked totally pulled together in an all-pink fit that reminded us of the more relaxed pandemic aesthetic we’ve all come to embrace.
Keeping things feminine and timeless, Ghanaian Star Joselyn Dumas didn’t hesitate to put a dreamy touch out there in a teal green tulle dress, as styled by Kelvin Vincent. On the contrary, South African Buhle Samuels went the fierce route in an all-black-everything ensemble by Fashion Nova. The entire look was an ideal blend of delicate and intense and it’s safe to say Buhle nailed the look!
