In 2013, luxury shoe designer Christian Louboutin launched his ‘Nudes’ collection in five shades that correspond with women’s skin tones ranging from pale pink to dark brown. Last year the designer expressed the need for two more shades to be added to the collection saying: “There are two colors that I’m missing the range of in the middle. In the next year, we will be at seven total skin tones.”
The french designer kept his word as his recently released a spring-summer 2016 collection with 7 shades of nude ranging from pale ‘Lea Nue’ #1 to deep ‘Toudou’ #7, truly providing a shade for all skin tones. Announcing the addition, Mr Louboutin instagramed “seven shades of nude ensure every woman can meet her match.”
The additional two colors were included as part of the lineup for a new ballet flat christened, Solasofia. The new ballet flat is made of soft and buttery napa leather. The shoe texture is similar to the feel of human skin and comes complete with the brand’s signature red-bottomed sole. After all, it wouldn’t be a Louboutin without the red sole.
Promoting the new collection, the accompanying campaign shots photographed by Sofia & Mauro feature 7 ethnically diverse models in ballet-styled tutus wearing the Solasofia flat in skin-tone matching shades.
A pair of Solasofia flats will set up back by $595.
