Beauty trends come and go but one that has never gone out of style is the red lipstick. A red lipstick, no matter the shade, is classic, sexy and transformative. It has remained the hottest lip colour for centuries and there are no signs that women are getting tired of it.
Almost every woman I know has one or more red lipsticks in her beauty arsenal and that’s because the red lip – stick – stain – gloss is so versatile and can uplift any look. It works with a variety of eye makeup and automatically makes you look ready. It also has the power to add that extra spice to your entire styles and makes one look daring no matter the shade or formula.
Its appearance on several shows at the just concluded haute couture fashion week in Paris made us fall in love all over again. In recent times, some of our favourite Nigerian celebrities have rocked the red lippie and not one went wrong with it.
A classic red lipstick comes in different shades like the orange-red colour seen on Omotola Jalade Ekeinde, wine red as seen on Lilian Esoro and so many others. From glossy red lipstick to a matte finish, sheer tint and stains, the red lippie will definitely get you a lot of compliments.
My personal best red lipstick brand is Mac and if you’re thinking the shade is the popular Ruby Woo, you’re definitely right!
