MICHELLE OBAMA Is As Fashionable As Ever On The December Issue Of Elle Magazine

The former First Lady of the United States of America, Michelle Obama, lands the cover of the 2018 December Issue of Elle Magazine in which she’s exclusively interviewed by Oprah Winfrey. Inside the feature, Michelle talks about her upcoming book “Becoming” which covers what life has been like for the Obama family since they left the Oval Office, the pressures of being the first Black family in the White House, her upbringing, the couple attending marriage counselling and more.

The cover which was shot by Miller Mobley has Michelle looking as fashionable as ever as she was styled by Meredith Koop, her stylist from her days in the White House. Her makeup was taken care of by her trusted makeup artist Carl Ray, who also worked with her as the First Lady and her hair was styled by Yene Damtew.

Poplin shirt, $1,350, leather corset, $2,400, all Dior. Silver hoop earrings, Jennifer Fisher, $795

In this issue, Michelle Obama also talks about her fashion, her relation with Barack before they got married, her feelings of vulnerability when he was away, and about Donald Trump while ending on a note of having to be optimistic for the sake of the children.

In her own words,

“Yes. We have to feel that optimism. For the kids. We’re setting the table for them, and we can’t hand them crap. We have to hand them hope. Progress isn’t made through fear. We’re experiencing that right now. Fear is the coward’s way of leadership. But kids are born into this world with a sense of hope and optimism. No matter where they’re from. Or how tough their stories are. They think they can be anything because we tell them that. So we have a responsibility to be optimistic. And to operate in the world in that way.”
