One thing you may have noticed with Chanel is the fact that there is no half measure with the brand, and for their SS19 collection, the legendary fashion house with Karl Lagerfeld as Creative Director went over and beyond with its presentation. The collection which was unveiled at Paris Fashion Week took the beach to the historic Le Grand Palais located at the Champs-Élysées.
The exhibition hall was transformed into a beach, complete with mounds of sand covering every inch of the floor, a tidal machine creating lapping waves that broke against the shore and Chanel lifeguards atop their wooden beach huts.
The scenic beachscape was even complete with its own tiki hut and mini boardwalk, which Karl Lagerfeld later took his final bow on.

The collection tagged #ChanelByTheSea had models struttingon the idyllic seaside setting. There were oversized straw hats, straw visors, vacation-ready swimsuits and Chanel logos adorned on belts and cardigans. Colourful sundresses, bouts of classic Chanel signatures like tweed and suiting, which were reinvented for a more laid-back and summery setting, were not left out.
Bike shorts and even leggings were also showcased with an array of colourful logo sandals that were carried down the runway in pinks, blues and a classic black and white logo flat. The models who were barefooted carried not one, but two Chanel handbags at a time. Embellished and dreamy evening wears were also not left out as they closed the show.
