NYFW: Oscar De La Renta’s SS19 Collection Shifts Its Focus To A Younger And Hippier Crowd

A fashion and culture enthusiast who's really a food loving…
Evolution is a key ingredient for growth and that is what has happened with the Oscar de la Renta brand. In times past, the brand would have released a collection that was more of daytime suits, tea dresses, and evening wear but for its SS19 collection, the luxury fashion house focused more on daywear with a higher number of top and pants combination than usual.
The creative directors Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia kept the collection super casual and culturally rich with influences from Italy, Morroco, Greece, and India. There were still signature elements of Oscar de la Renta in this collection such as the embroidered roses the brand used heavily back in 1994 along with some other signature elements from that year.
The Oscar De La Renta collection is for the woman who wants to be comfortable and sexy. It features boho blouses, fringed sarong skirts, oversized sweaters, loose trousers, red carpet-worthy dresses, parrot clutches and more. From low v-necks, high slits, fringe to feathers, the collection was definitely all about rich prints.
