T

he end of the month means different things to different people. To some it means pay day is here; to others it means new month, new opportunities. To a special group which I belong to, it’s a chance to look back at the past month and see what good was in it that can be carried into the new month. Nigerian songs

When I look back at April, I can’t help but notice that it had a lot of good musical moments as a good number of top musicians released some great hits. You know, I can’t help but commend Nigerian artistes like Tiwa Savage, Davido, Wizkid and Kiss Daniel because they are definitely doing us proud especially with their consistency when it comes to releasing songs and this has me quite excited as to what this new month holds music-wise (and of course, fashion wise too!).

So as usual, this Friday, to help you catch up on the music game, we have put together top 5 Nigerian songs that  Nigerians were listening to in April.

Here are the 5 Nigerian songs to catch up on…

1. Mayorkun ft Davido | Bobo

First of all, this song is by Mayorkun and Davido! If I wasn’t such a huge Davido fan already I’m certain that Davido’s consistency with releasing hit songs would have converted me into one by now! Other than his consistency, I really love how he brings his energy and fun vibe into everything he does musically.

2. DJ Cuppy ft Sarkodie | Vybe

Cuppy is currently making the switch from DJ to a badass musician and with her new song Vybe which features one of Africa’s best rappers, Sarkodie, I can say she is actually well on her way to stardom as a musician. In this song, Cuppy shows she has what it takes to entertain as a singer but Sarkodie’s rap is really what makes this particular jam to be THAT good. His rap skills are phenomenal and he really did bring his A game to this one.

3. Wizkid | Lagos Vibes

I personally like Wizkid for many things: his style, his personality, his vibe, and also how he is constantly putting out the the fact that he is from Lagos, Nigeria. He is one of those singers who have managed to retain their street cred despite fame and money and with Lagos Vibes he does that one more time.

4. DJ Spinall ft Kiss Daniel | Baba

Someone recently said Kiss Daniel doesn’t have a bad song and I actually agree because I’ve never heard a Kiss Daniel song I didn’t like. A part of me wishes he releases songs a bit more consistently, however I can’t deny that he makes up for that by making sure that every single one of his release is gold just like Baba (which was released in the last days of April but is so good it had to be included); which is a very groovy song with the added flavor of DJ Spinall.

5. Tiwa Savage ft Omarion | Get It Now (Remix)

When I heard there was going to be a remix for Get It Now I wasn’t excited because I typically don’t like remixes but when I learned the remix would feature American recording artiste Omarion, I was quite intrigued; and listening to the song I can see that this remix had to be made! Tiwa brought all the awesomeness that we know her for and proved just why she is the original African barbie and then Omarion proved why he was the perfect choice for this song. This is definitely one of the Nigerian songs Nigerians never got tired of.

While at it, catch up on 5 Songs Released In 2017 That Are Still Ranking High In The Charts.
