A fashion and culture enthusiast who's really a food loving…
Fashion brand Black Coffee previewed its SS18 collection tagged ‘Orbit’ at the just concluded South African Fashion Week and the collection was inspired by the intensity of the tumultuous 1960s with its combination of crisp colours, bold embellishments and simple elegant shapes.
The collection exemplifies optimism, with an upbeat, modern and easy to wear pieces, distinctive as much for Jacques van der Watt’s structured tailoring as for his assemblage of knitwear and crochet, handmade tassels, laser cut appliqué, ribbon and custom lace embellishments. Black Coffee is known for the way they blend fabrication and fashion. The sharp structural designs are characterised by complex, layered shapes that yield a fastidious fashion sensibility which is restrained and bold.
