ARISE (synonym for Africa Rising) fashion week is currently underway at the Lagos Continental Hotel, formerly known as the Intercontinental Hotel. So far, the show has featured some of the best designers from across Africa and beyond showing their latest collections. Abaya Lagos, who showcased on the first day unveiled a stunning AW18 collection tagged “Cultured Arabica.”
The brand set the mood of the show with an awesome soundtrack called ‘Arabian Trap’. The song represented everything the label stands for – modest yet modern, cultural and cool. The collection featured Arabian-inspired cosmopolitan designs accentuated with turbans and sunshades. The highlight of the Abaya Lagos presentation was the sparkling gold hooded cape that looked like something out of a fairytale.
The superbly graceful collection is meant for the woman who wants to look stylish in elegant pieces while remaining modest in her looks. The brand flaunted a final piece that was reminiscent of something Zuhair Murad would design and was definitely one of the stand-out pieces of the entire night.
