1. Zendaya stuns on the cover of both US Vogue and British Vogue covers

For only the third time in Condé Nast’s history, Zendaya has posed for the cover of both US Vogue and British Vogue simultaneously. On 9 April, the 27-year-old Emmy winner was revealed as the simultaneous cover star for both US Vogue and British Vogue’s May issues. The publications have only shared personalities two times before. Adele made history in 2021 as the first person to appear on both covers, while Noami Campbell, Cindy Crawford, Linda Evangelista, and Christy Turlington posed for the magazines’ September 2023 issues.

The US cover was photographed by none other than legendary photographer Annie Leibovitz, while the British cover’s Challengers-inspired shoot was photographed by Carlijn Jacobs. Throughout both cover stories, Zendaya shared details about preparing for her role as fictional tennis star Tashi Duncan in the highly-anticipated sports drama, Challengers directed by Luca Guadagnino. The “Spider-Man: Homecoming” actor also opened up about her romance with co-star Tom Holland and the difficulties she’s found navigating private life in the spotlight.

2. Davido buys expensive diamond necklaces for his 30BG crew members

Davido took to social media on Monday, April 8, to showcase the custom-crafted set of necklaces for his 30BG crew members. Each is adorned with dazzling diamonds and prominently features the emblematic “30BG” pendant. The photo shared by Davido revealed the lavishness of the jewelry, with each piece exuding luxury and sophistication. According to reports, the collective value of these diamond chains is estimated at a staggering ₦20 million.

Weeks after Cassper Nyovest’s wedding invitation circulated on social media, the rapper tied the knot with his partner Pulane. Congratulatory messages have flooded Cassper’s timeline after he shared images from his traditional wedding, which was attended by social media personality Primo and DJ Vettys, among other celebrities.

In early February, Cassper, during an interview with podcaster Mpoomy Ledwaba, revealed he and his baby’s mother, Thobeka, had broken up. The “Siyathandana” hitmaker revealed his promiscuity had ended their relationship two years ago.

4. Beyoncé becomes first Black woman to hit No.1 on Billboard Top Country Albums chart

Beyoncé has made history again. Her latest album, “Cowboy Carter,” took the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 albums chart and reached No. 1 on the Top Country Albums chart, making her the first-ever Black woman to achieve the feat since the list premiered in January 1964, Billboard reports. In her first week, she debuted with 407,000 equivalent album units earned in the U.S. This is her eighth album to top the Billboard 200. “Cowboy Carter” also earned the most units for a country album in its first week since Taylor Swift’s release of “Speak Now (Taylor’s Version),” which boasted 716,000 units.

5. Alex Iwobi surpasses Mikel Obi’s record

Fulham’s Alex Iwobi has cemented his place in the Premier League record books! In a recent match against Newcastle United, Iwobi played the entire 90 minutes, pushing his total Premier League playing time to a staggering 16,289 minutes. This achievement surpasses the previous record held by legendary midfielder John Mikel Obi, who clocked in at 16,218 minutes.

Iwobi’s journey to the top began with Arsenal in 2015. Since then, he’s consistently featured for his clubs, racking up valuable minutes on the pitch. This season alone, the 27-year-old has been a key player for Fulham, making 24 appearances and scoring five goals. Mikel Obi may no longer hold the record for most minutes, but his career boasts a cabinet full of trophies.
