Last Week’s Best Beauty Looks Spoke Volumes On The Power Of Black Beauty

ast week was a whirlwind of emotions in the beauty department. From the excitement of seeing our favorite Black stars render optimum looks to pride in their ability to deliver without fail and sadness to see such a high-octane week come to an end, we felt it all. The week came with a healthy dose of sizzling red carpet makeup looks and hairstyles that punched hard, serving tens across boards. Whether it was at the SAG Awards or at numerous movie premieres, Black girls did not fall short of slay.

At this point, we can wholeheartedly conclude that Kelly Rowland is in her soft doll-up era. Another week, another serving of subtle glam. For a PR shoot for her new Netflix movie, MEA CULPA, the singer advocated for beguiling shades of brown to emphasize her rich melanin skin. From her brown eye shadow to her nude lips and strategic contouring, all elements played their part without competing for attention.

At the SAG Awards, Halle Bailey took on the red carpet with grace, assisted by one of the chicest makeup looks of the week. Just like Ms. Rownald, and per her modus operandi, the new mom made this list thanks to her understated glam that still managed to turn heads. Consisting of lightly-filled brows, shimmering eyeshadow, and glossy lips, the beat added the oomph to her burgundy Dolce & Gabbana number.

Hairstyle

Just when we thought we had seen all the interpretations of the pixie cut, Jourdan Dunn made her submission and made us update our list. The sharp cuts of the hairstyle elevated her strong jawline and her cheekbones, reminding us that this is a hairdo that will always serve edginess without missing.
