Last Week’s Best Beauty Looks Were A Deliberate Attempt To Serve Sass

ith a plethora of cuts, fits, and sways, the best wardrobe offerings of the week were crying for equally impressive beauty looks that matched the tempo, and Black stars delivered. From the Emmy Awards to the Urban One Honors and every event in between, celebrities exhibited an undeniable commitment to stand out on the red carpet in makeup looks and hairstyles that served sass.

Last week, iconic singer Mary J. Blige went the femme fatale route, embodying the definition of a dangerous yet appealing lady. She made this point at the Urban One Honors in shimmering smokey eyes played up by witchy lashes. To balance the sexiness of her eyes (and black cut-out number), Ms. Blige opted for glossy neutral lips that sealed the deal. 

For the Emmy Awards, Shery Lee Ralph was a sight to behold in a structured white dress that played up her frame. The elegant number required an equally elegant face beat to reach its fullest potential and for that, celeb makeup artist, Keita Moore rose to the occasion. From her well-defined brows to her shimmering lids, her sharp contour to her neutral lips, all the elements of looks played their part without fail. 

Hair

One of the best red carpet hairstyles we spotted last week was on Taraji P. Henson. The actress opted for the classic ponytail hairdo that not only emphasized her facial features but also did justice to her custom Atelier Versace number.
