1. Tems becomes the most certified Nigerian female artiste in Canada

Grammy-award-winning singer, songwriter, and performer, Tems is officially the most certified Nigerian female artiste in Canada, following the four new certifications received by the singer for her songs. Tems’ total number of certified songs in Canada increased to six after the following songs, “Damages,” “Free Mind,” “Higher,” and “Found,” were all certified gold after selling over 40,000 units each in Canada. Aside from being the most certified Nigerian female artiste in Canada, she also became the third most certified Nigerian artist in the country as well.

2. J. Cole announces 2024 Dreamville Festival

On October 23, J. Cole and his team officially announced that Dreamville Festival is returning to Raleigh, NC, in April 2024. Those who head over to the event’s website can sign up for updates, including early bird ticket sales. “Dreamville Fest 2023 was a major cultural moment for the spring festival season,” said President Adam Roy via press release. “We had amazing performances from some of the biggest artists of my generation and we plan to bring that same energy in 2024! Lineup coming soon.”

Two-thousand-and-twenty-three’s Dreamville Festival is considered the most successful to date, much in part thanks to receiving 100,000 festival attendees from around the globe, including many that arrived from 23 countries across four continents.

3. South Africa: Zakes Bantwini shows first glimpse of DHL stage

Zakes Bantwini is beaming with pride as he counts down to his history-making Abantu concert. Ahead of the concert on October 28 at the 62,000-capacity DHL stadium in Cape Town, the Grammy Award winner gave his followers the first look at the stage. “Very pleased with what we have put together,” he captioned the post.

Zakes’ wife, Nandi Madida, expressed her excitement about the concert, which will also show the Rugby World Cup Final between the Springboks and All Blacks “This is going to be the sickest viewing fan park and concert. DHL Stadium CT for the Rugby World Cup Final,” she wrote. Under his new partnership with talent management agency Aline, Zakes signed a three-year contract with the DHL stadium.

4. Busta Rhymes and Burna Boy rumored to have a new song

American rapper, Busta Rhymes is rumored to have a new collaboration with Burna Boy. The American musician was seen dropping heavy beats with Burna Boy singing in the background in a video. The hip-hop singer has just revealed his 11th solo studio album titled “Blockbusta,” and he will release it on Black Friday, November 24. Busta announced the project in a video posted on his social media platform on October 23, in which he held a Zoom sit-down with the project’s three A-list super producers namely: Pharrell Williams, Timbaland, and Swizz Beatz.

The album may include a feature by Burna Boy, as seen in the video. This is not the first interaction between the two as the American singer has been a huge fan of the African Giant, and was one of several American artists to attend Burna Boy’s Citi Field concert in July.

5. Thomas Partey’s injury curse strikes again

Thomas Partey was ruled out of Arsenal’s Champions League clash against Sevilla on Tuesday after sustaining another injury. The Premier League club announced on Tuesday that the midfielder will be absent from the squad for the European encounter in Spain. The 30-year-old is struggling with a muscle problem.
